FAQ

What is Mixing?

Mixing is the process of balancing the individual elements of a song against one another. This involves making volume, frequency, dynamics and spatial adjustment using techniques such as EQ, compression and automation.

What do I need to provide?

You'll need to provide me with the multi-track audio files for your song. You can have these broken up however you like, and you can provide as many files as necessary, but you'll need to make sure that all of the files start at the same time and combine to create the full song.

What's Included in the Price?

You get up to 3 revisions (more upon discretion), a professional mixdown and a master of your project in the event that you don't wish to pay additional for a mastering engineer.

If your track includes vocals, you'll also have the option to pay a small extra fee for full vocal tuning treatment. Otherwise, only light tuning will be applied if necessary.

What Will I Receive?

When the mix has been signed off by you, you will receive:

  • Stereo mixdown .wav file at requested samples rate and bit-depth (44.1kHz, 24-bit unless otherwise specified)

    • This is what you send for mastering if using someone else for mastering.

  • Stereo master .wav file at requested sample rate and bit-depth (44.1kHz, 24-bit unless otherwise specified)

    • I use this to show you what your track could sound like after it's been mastered, but you could also use this for digital distribution.

  • Stereo master .mp3 file at 320kbps

    • For sharing around with your friends!

  • Up to 8 stems in .wav format at requested sample rate and bit-depth (44.1kHz, 24-bit unless otherwise requested)

    • These are what you can send to people if you want them to remix your song. I can break these up however you'd like, but typically it's something like: Drums, Bass, Instruments, Vocals, FX

Can I Attend a Mixing Session?

If you live in Melbourne, Australia and would like to attend a mixing session, we can try and arrange for that to happen! That said, mixing often takes places over multiple sessions, so generally speaking it's more efficient for me to be able to complete it in my own time.
