FAQ

What is Song Production?

The process of song production is taking a compositional idea (such as lyrics and a chord progression), and fleshing it out with recorded instrumentation, sound design, and any other elements that can be added to support the composition.

What do I need to provide?

You'll need to provide the core compositional idea for the song. This can change over the course of the production process, but we will need something to work with from the start.

It's also recommended that you have 2-3 reference tracks. This will help me with better understanding your vision for the final song.

What's Included in the Price?

You get a fully produced song with unlimited reasonable revisions (up to my discretion) to make sure that your vision is achieved. If your song needs vocals or other instruments recorded, this may incur an extra cost depending on equipment, venue, and time.

You'll also get a rough mix of the song. If you would like me to also mix the song for you, an extra fee will be incurred.

What Will I Receive?

When the production has been signed off by you, you will receive:

  • Rough stereo mixdown .wav file at requested sample rate and bit-depth (44.1kHz, 24-bit unless otherwise specified), and .mp3 file at 320kbps.

    • These files are what you can use to share your song with others.

  • Full multi-track stems in .wav format at requested sample rate and bit-depth (44.1kHz, 24-bit unless otherwise specified),

    • These are what you send to a mixing engineer for mixing.

Can I Attend a Song Production Session?

Song production takes place over multiple sessions, and I work closely with you to help you achieve your vision. Because of this, it's highly recommended that you attend sessions either in-person or remotely. Work can and will be done in-between sessions, but attending sessions will help make sure you get what you want and the process is as smooth and efficient as possible.
